BL-Monitor is based upon a timing engine that simultaneously queries and measures multiple DNSBL response time. It also keeps track of how many queries on IP addresses are listed, unlisted or timed out without ever getting any response.
Based these factors, BL-Monitor ranks each DNSBL server. This rank lets you choose the DNSBL servers that are most effective for your site. Since ranking is based upon your mail traffic and is performed at your Internet location relative to the DNSBL servers, results are only significant for you.
BL-Monitor is supplied with an initial set of DNSBL servers and blacklisted IP addresses recorded by CMS. Analysis can start with just this supplied data but it will not reflect your mail traffic.
BL-Monitor is a useful email utility that will come in handy.
CMS recommends that IP addresses from your own mail traffic, representing both good and spam messages, are used. These IP addresses can be extracted from the anti-spam filtering product used at your site. Note that extracting only the blacklisted IP address for BL-Monitor analysis will cause the results to favor the DNSBL servers already being used.

BL-Monitor is designed to be a turn key solution for analyzing, visualizing and configuring your DNSBL checking.
BL-Monitor calculates the importance of each DNSBL server based on how many queries on it are timed out, how many queries are listed and how many queries are unlisted.
If DNSBL testing for your domain doesn’t exist, then it will be provided as part of the package.
BL-Monitor is multi-threaded and capable of monitoring multiple DNSBL servers at the same time.
BL-Monitor is made for the desktop, but can be run from a web server. It also has the ability to easily run from the command line.
BL-Monitor will query DNSBL response time for each IP address listed in CMS using the average latency (as seen by the query to a DNSBL server) and the average response time (as seen by querying a DNSBL server).
BL-Monitor will list the results in a customizable format. The following options are available:
+ New listing – A new listing is one that has been added to CMS and not yet analyzed in BL-Monitor.
– Update listing – A listing has been updated in CMS and is already in BL-Monitor.
+ Unlisted – A listing has been unlisted from the DNSBL and is shown as unlisted in BL-Monitor.
– Removed listing – A listing has been removed from the DNSBL and is shown as removed from BL-Monitor.
* Invalidate – A listing has been removed from the DNSBL and has not been analyzed. It will show as invalid in BL-Monitor
– Expire – A listing has timed out without receiving a response. It will show as expired in BL-Monitor
– Expired – An expired listing. It will show as expired in BL-Monitor.
* Updated – A listing has been updated in CMS but not in BL-Monitor.

== Using BL-Monitor

BL-Monitor can be used on a local machine as well as from a web server to view results.
You can use BL-Monitor either to check the status of the DNSBL servers you choose, or to compare the DNSBL server you currently use against a DNSBL server you might wish to switch to.

BL-Monitor can be started from a command line or a web browser.
To run from a command line:

Project Summary The overarching goal of this application is to establish a multi-PI, multidisciplinary, training program in multidrug resistance (MDR) at the University of California San Francisco (UCSF). During the first cycle of the program, we assembled a training committee comprised of a former MDR training director, a MDR expert, a biomathematics expert, a structural biologist and a clinical researcher. This committee formulated a short-term training program that will support two trainees per year, each for a period of two to three years. Two positions will be filled annually. The training program will provide comprehensive, interactive multidisciplinary training to prepare applicants for a career as academic leaders in MDR biology and the ultimate ability to contribute to novel approaches to therapeutic intervention. Our long-term objectives are to prepare trainees for independent research careers, teaching and leadership roles in the fields of MDR and drug development, while also using the program as a way to leverage the strengths of each of the participating departments/ divisions/centers to train the next generation of MDR scientists.
